CYPHACON Weapons Policy Rev.3a  3/2/20

CYPHA LLC is committed to a safe and secure environment for all our staff, volunteers, visitors, guests, and attendees. With this and our commitment to our local community and fans, we have set forth this new set of rules for future events. To minimize the threat of injuries and your safety regarding props or weapons on-premises we present our new set of policies for our event.

POLICY:

CYPHA LLC, attendees, exhibitors, and staff must follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding weapons, imitation weapons, and props, as well as their usage. 

CYPHACON Attendees are, under no circumstances, allowed to possess or bring to the convention grounds any actual weapons. Unlawful possession of weapons is an offense and will result in denied admission into the convention.

Attendees are reminded that while traveling to and from our event, to make sure due care is taken on your behalf to ensure any weapons or props, which could cause public alarm, are properly secured in a place unseen.

All weapons and props must be in plain sight at all times and are subject to mandatory inspections performed by the Lake Charles Police Department (LCPD) on site.

Any weapon prop(s) or items considered unsafe will be inspected by the Lake Charles Police Department at our Prop check desk.

  • PROP CHECK

    1. All attendees that enter the Lake Charles Event Center with a prop must check-in at our Prop Check desk in the main lobby found near the front door entrance. Security will inspect your prop and if it complies with the regulations and rules CYPHA LLC has set forth for props it will be allowed

    2. If the LCPD approves your prop it will be ZIP tied to easily identify it to our staff and volunteers as checked by Security. These ZIP ties must be visible at all times, removal of ZIP ties during the event will result in removal from the event.

    3. If NOT approved attendees will be asked to store their props in their car, bring them home or leave it with CYPHACON in the main box office for safekeeping. If the choice of leaving on site with us, you may return at the end of the day to pick up your prop upon exiting the building. If by the end of our show on Sunday at 5 PM your prop has not been claimed the venue reserves the right to dispose of the prop.
