Sponsor Chair

cyphacon.sponsor@gmail.com

A native of Iowa, Melissa lives a fabulous life with her wonderful husband, Joshua, and stunning daughter, Evangeline. She also resides on what can only be called the Macer Mini Farm with her three dogs and ducks. An avid reader, Melissa spends her time hanging out with her family or cooking and baking when she is not reading. Melissa is a new member of CYPHACON and the sci-fi fandom. She holds a BS in Marketing, a Master’s in Business Administration, and is completing her dissertation to earn her Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership. Education is a large part of Melissa’s life as she is a Southern New Hampshire University professor and, alongside her husband, homeschool Evangeline.

Melissa started her journey with CYPHACON after her husband became a vendor. While assisting in running Joshua’s booth, she met some amazing people with whom she continued to grow those friendships over the years. Melissa has continued to increase her involvement in CYPHACON, from the original booth to volunteering, to being the sponsored charity with the Molly Frank Foundation, and
then to being the Sponsorship Chair member for CYPHACON.

When not engaged with CYPHACON, Melissa is on the board of CYPHAKIDS, a 501c3 that is involved in supporting underrepresented youth in the community, the Molly Frank Foundation, a 501c3 that serves to assist in providing service dogs for veterans and civilians with disabilities, and volunteering at ACTS theater both in acting one stage and crew roles.

Say hi to her if you see her walking around; however, it may be difficult at times to notice her as she cosplays. She may be dressed as David Bowie, Beetlejuice, or any number of other characters.
